  3. Welcome to the Font Garden CDROM!
  4.  
  5. This CDROM contains 500 fonts in both Truetype and Postscript formats
  6. for both MS Windows and Macintosh operating systems.  
  7.

  10. Windows Quick Start
  11.  
  12. From the Windows Program manager, choose Run from the File menu.
  13.  
  14. In the dialog box, type D:\SETUP. (If the D: drive is not your CDROM
  15. drive, change it to the appropriate CDROM drive letter.)
  16.  
  17. This will create a program group for this disc, as well as icons for
  18. the programs that can be run from the CDROM.

  22. MSDOS Quick Start

  24. Change to your CDROM drive and type "view" (without quotes).
  25.     Example:

  27.         C:\> D: 
  28.         D:\> view

  31. program.

  49. Manually installing True Type Fonts into Windows:
  50.  
  51. 1) While at the MSDOS prompt, change to your CDROM drive and type
  52. "view" (without quotes).
  53.           
  54.    Example: 
  55.  
  56.     C:\> D: 
  57.     D:\> view
  58.  
  59.    If your CDROM drive is not the D: drive, substitute your CDROM
  60.    drive letter for D:.
  61.  
  62. 2) Within the View program, use the cursor (arrow) keys to move the
  63. highlight bar up and down.  Choose the TrueType Fonts directory, and
  64. press the Enter key.
  65.  
  66. 3) Select which category you wish to view by moving the highlight bar
  67. up and down, and then pressing Enter.  You may go back to the
  68. previous menu by pressing the Escape key.
  69.  
  70. 4) While within the TrueType fonts categories, use the highlight bar
  71. to choose a font.  Press Enter to specify that you wish to copy the
  72. font somewhere onto your hard drive.  
  73.  
  74. 5) At the Destination prompt, type the location of your Windows
  75. System directory.  On non-customized systems, this would normally be
  76. "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM" (without quotes).  This will copy the TrueType
  77. font into your Windows System directory.
  78.  
  79. 6) Install as many fonts as you would like this way, then press the
  80. Escape key until you exit back to the MSDOS prompt.
  81.  
  82. 7) Start up Windows, if you are not already using it.
  83.  
  84. 8) In the Control panel windows (usually located within the Main
  85. program group), choose the Fonts icon.  The Fonts dialog box appears.
  86.  
  87. 9) Choose the Add button.
  88.  
  89. 10) Open the Drives list, and then select the drive that contains
  90. your Windows directory.  Select the Windows directory, then select
  91. the System directory to which your fonts were copied earlier.
  92.  
  93. 11) From the List Of Fonts box, select the fonts you want to add.
  94. You can extend the selection to add several fonts at once.  Or, to
  95. add every font in the list, chose the Select All button.
  96.  
  97. 12) Choose the OK button.
  98.

  100. consult your Microsoft Windows User's Guide.

  104. To Remove True Type Fonts from Windows:
  105.  
  106. 1) From the installed Fonts list, select the font you want to
  107. remove, and then choose the Remove button.
  108.  
  109. 2) If you ant to delete the font files from your disk in addition to
  110. removing the fonts from memory, slect the Delete Font File From Disc
  111. check box.  Then choose the Yes button.  Or, if you are removing
  112. several fonts at once, choose the Yes To All button.

  119. be considered to be a sort of try before you buy system where you are
  120. expected to pay the program author a registration fee if you find the
